Here is what we talked about this time:
- In Bran's wolf dream, Summer thinks of Ghost as "the white who has no voice." He also doesn't count Ghost as one of the siblings, at first.
- Going to Astapor is Jorah's idea. He convinces Dany while they are sailing to Pentos and Dany changes course.
- Arya is emotionally disconnected. No end goal, living in the moment, hoping for an opportunity to kill someone for her prayer.
- Arya can't come back from where is is emotionally - she is too far gone.
- Starks are highly motivated to avenge their family after all that has happened to them.
- Sansa confesses to Margaery and Lady Olenna that Joffrey is a monster.
- Sansa is finally learning to be suspicious and not to trust anyone, as she goes into her meeting with the Tyrells ready to lie through her teeth about Joffrey. But they end up winning her trust and she tells them the truth.
- Mance Rayder is unassuming, to his advantage - he can go unnoticed and sneak into Winterfell.
- Dragons will never stop growing as long as they have food and freedom. If they are tamed, are they still free? Dany's dragons are like her pets. Similar to the Starks' wolves - they leave to hunt, and come back to their masters.
- Jojen is worried that Bran is losing himself to his wolf. Bran spends longer periods of time in Summer and is neglecting his own body.
- The Reeds still seem connected to the Children of the Forest.
- Jojen says the greenseers were more than dreamers. True greenseers were wargs. Jojen needs Bran to go beyond the Wall, because Jojen can't teach Bran what he doesn't know, as he is not a true greenseer.
- Bran's only reason for going north is to "fly" - he doesn't want to be Bran the Broken.
- How did Melisandre know Davos would try to kill her? She either has whisperers like Varys, or she could see it in her flames.
- It is interesting how magic has evolved since the beginning of the series. How much is truly magic and how much is slight of hand?
- Folklore and stories aren't believed (like Old Nan's stories) but the more we learn, the more they ring of truth.
- Did the comet bring about magic? Dany saw the comet as she was building Drogo's pyre, and said it looked like a dragon's tail and she couldn't have asked for a better sign.
- Maybe Jaime kept from killing Brienne because he wants to wait for a fair fight, where they each have a sword in their hand. He has something to prove to himself for killing the king he was sworn to protect - an unarmed mad king whom he stabbed in the back.
- Sansa and Brienne almost live in the same fairy world. Brienne is Sansa's true knight in shining armor.
See you next time!
