Meeting Reminder

Hello! Our next meeting is today, Wednesday September 24th at 6pm in the Staff Lounge. Chris is bringing food. We were supposed to read to page 662 in the paperback, stopping before The Ghost in Winterfell ("The dead man was found at the base of the inner wall"). If you've read ahead and need a refresher on where we left the characters, read on!

• Bran is learning from Lord Brynden. Bran has been going into Hodor to explore the caves, and he has learned to see through the eyes of weirwood trees. He sees many events that passed in front of the weirwood in the godswood at Winterfell.
• Areo Hotah witnesses the Martells' reception of Gregor's skull. Prince Doran reveals to three of his nieces pieces of his plan: Obara is to lead Ser Balon Swann to Darkstar; Nymeria is to take the empty seat on the small council in King's Landing; Tyene is to join Baelor's Sept as a septa to get close to the new High Septon. Arianne will stay in Dorne as Doran's heir.
• Tyrion, Penny and Jorah are on a ship heading to Qarth. A storm comes and much of the crew and ship are destroyed. As the ship lies dead in the water, a slave ship is on its way to "rescue" them.
• Theon witnesses the wedding of "Arya" aka Jeyne Poole and Ramsay and participates in their wedding night. Lady Dustin explains to Theon her hatred of the Starks.
• Asha is a captive of Stannis Baratheon. Stannis's men and the clansmen of the North are trying to get to Winterfell but have been snowed in.
• Dany finally meets Quentyn Martell and the two Dornish knights, but rejects Quentyn's marriage proposal. She marries Hizdar zo Loraq.
• Jon greets Queen Selyse and the queensmen from Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. Alys Karstark arrives on a dying horse to beg Jon for help from her uncles.
• Arya begs through Bravos as a blind girl, reporting 3 new facts every day to the kindly man. She sees through the eyes of a cat and tells the kindly man that she knows he is the one who beats her. Her sight is restored.
